King Ludwig's Linderhof Palace: Little Black Dress

LINDERHOF PALACE IN A BLACK DRESS

In honour of King Ludwig II of Bavaria's 170th Birthday

There has always been a close relationship between the famous "fairytale" King Ludwig II of Bavaria and my hometown. Several of his magnificent residences are located in the near vicinity including Linderhof Palace and Neuschwanstein Castle (which inspired the Disney Castle). Since the later 19th century when the King visited the Oberammergau Passion Play, the locals celebrate his birthday with bonfires, fireworks and music from top of the surrounding mountains. Ever since this tradition of King Ludwig's Fire takes place on 24th August, the night before his birthday. Although it attracts more and more people from the area, it was never meant to be a tourist attraction but a custom by and for the local inhabitants.

EVENING LOOK IN PINK AND BLACK

PINK AT NIGHT

Pink is a new colour for me at night but this fuchsia tone is a perfect combination with classic black. I used to wear black on black for evening events but this time I decided to go for my new coat by Damart. Have you seen my casual daytime look with this coat in my last post here?

Wrapdresses (this is actually a faux wrap dress) are my favourite dresses as they are so body flattering! When in doubt, I always go for a little black dress like this one from Wallis (similar here) and, depending on the occasion, pair it with a clutch or my black leather Riana bag from Maxwell Scott.

Change of subject: For a long time I haven't been happy with my hairstyle, I just let it grow and never had a proper cut for my fine and dry hair (see photo 2!). Although I am dreaming of longer hair (which I always had when I was younger), realistically it is not going to work. Therefore I am aiming for a medium length bob and the first step is adjusting it to the same length as my side parts are currently a bit shorter than the rest. In my next post you will see how it turned out!

PINK FÜR ABENDS

Pink in einem etwas eleganteren Look ist für mich neu, denn meistens wähle ich bei Einladungen Schwarz und kombiniere es dann auch mit Schwarz. Heute habe ich aber meinen neuen Kurzmantel von Damart zum Kleinen Schwarzen getragen, den ich Euch in meinem letzten Post bereits in einem lässigeren Styling für tagsüber gezeigt habe.

Ich liebe Wickelkleider, sie sind unheimlich weiblich und figurschmeichelnd und wenn ich nicht weiß, was ich zu einem Event tragen soll, kommt sicher eines meiner Kleinen Schwarzen zum Einsatz, so wie dieses von Wallis in Wickeloptik (ein sehr ähnliches gibt es hier). Dazu meine schwarze Lieblingstasche, die Riana von Maxwell Scott und fertig!

Themawechsel: Seit langem bin ich mit meiner Frisur sehr unzufrieden und hatte eigentlich nie einen richtigen Schnitt, früher waren meine Haare einfach lang! Und natürlich träume ich nach wie vor von langen, welligen Haaren (Betonung auf "träume"), aber realistisch ist das natürlich nicht, sie sind zu dünn und auch recht trocken (auf Foto 2 sieht man das deutlich). Nun möchte ich gerne einen mittellangen Bob mit etwas längeren Seiten. Dazu ist der erste Schritt, die Haare auf einigermaßen gleiche Länge schneiden zu lassen, denn vorne sind sie noch etwas kürzer. Im nächsten Post seht Ihr, was daraus geworden ist!

BLACK DRESS AND A MOTO JACKET

BLACK DRESS & MOTO JACKET

A little black dress, heels and a moto jacket?
Burberry and H&M?
51 and a bodycon dress?

For me it is a "yes" to these questions because I love a style mix! And although I find "age appropriate" still somewhat relevant it doesn't restrict me from pairing younger pieces like this moto jacket (seen here with a black jumpsuit) with my personal style. As you know my daughter and I regularly share clothes and accessories but we both still stay true to our own style. And that's why I chose my favourite heels for a classy touch.

ISABI sent me this lovely jacquard knit dress which I can wear with tights and boots during the colder season (with our current weather I think I have to start early!) and for work I'll add a classic blazer. For a softer casual look I will combine it with my pink drape cardigan (also shown here). I really love the versatility a black dress offers!

Alena already had an eye on it and I wonder which styling she comes up with! I will let you know...

EIN KLEINES SCHWARZES MIT BIKERJACKE

Ein Kleines Schwarzes, Pumps und Bikerjacke?

Für mich lauten die Antworten "Ja", da ich einen Stilmix liebe! Und obwohl ich persönlich durchaus etwas von "altersgerechtem" Stil halte, bedeutet er schließlich nicht, dass ich gewisse Dinge nicht "darf"! Und daher habe ich heute zu meinem schwarzen, figurbetonten Strickkleid eine Bikerjacke kombiniert. Ich habe sie übrigens schon einmal zu meinem Jumpsuit hier gezeigt. Aber um trotzdem bei meinem Stil zu bleiben, trage ich meine Lieblingspumps dazu.

Das Kleid stammt von ISABI und lässt sich in der kühleren Jahreszeit (die wir hier eigentlich schon den ganzen Sommer haben...) prima mit Strumpfhose und Stiefeln kombinieren. Im Büro kann ich es mit einem klassischen Blazer tragen und zusammen mit meinem rosenholzfarbenen, seidigen ISABI Cardigan (den ich hier getragen habe) wird ein lässiger Look draus. Schwarze Kleider kann man nie genug haben, da sie so vielseitig sind!

Alena hat natürlich auch schon ein Auge drauf geworfen und ich bin gespannt, wie sie es stylen wird. Ich halte Euch auf dem Laufenden...

CASUAL STYLING OF A BLACK MAXI DRESS

BLACK DRESS - CASUAL STYLING FOR A SUMMER WEEKEND

Black dresses are considered as elegant, classy and a "must have". That is certainly true and I do have quite a selection of black dresses from shift dresses for the office, long elegant dresses for special occasions, more casual jersey dresses, a midi skaterdress or light summer dresses ... yes, I am a bit obsessed by them! Have a look at my previous looks in black dresses in my outfit gallery.

However, a LBD can be styled in so many different ways and I wore this sleeveless maxidress to a BBQ with my daughter last weekend. Last year I have shown you a more elegant version here. Paired with an oversized shirt and flip flops it was perfect for a warm summer night.

Here is Alena's look at that evening (sandals then replaced by flats - never wear heels on the lawn!)

DAS KLEINE SCHWARZE - GANZ LEGER FÜR'S WOCHENENDE

Schwarze Kleider haben den Ruf, elegant und klassisch zu sein und sind außerdem ein "must have" in jedem Kleiderschrank. Daher habe ich auch unzählige, von schmalen Etuikleidern für's Büro, langen Abendkleidern für besondere Gelegenheiten, leichte Baumwollkleider für den Sommer oder ein schwingendes Skaterdress... ich gebe zu, ich kann mich da nicht zurückhalten! In meiner outfit gallery findet Ihr zahlreiche Looks dazu.

Aber schwarze Kleider kann man auch ganz lässig tragen, wie ich zu einer Grillparty mit Alena am Wochenende. Das Kleid hatte ich letztes Jahr in einem eleganteren Styling hier vorgestellt. Jetzt habe ich einfach ein weites, weißes Hemd und schwarze FlipFlops dazu getragen - ein passender Look für einen schönen, warmen Sommerabend.

A LITTLE BLACK DRESS

A black dress always has its guaranteed place amongst the "10 wardrobe essentials a woman should own". Since I love dresses, I have a collection of black dresses from comfortable jersey wrapdresses to form-fitting sheath dresses and elegant ones for going out or special events.

This pin-striped dress is versatile and can be worn to the office as well as for an evening out, just depending on the styling. I was invited to a birthday dinner and instead of a blazer which would have been to formal, I wore it with my little shrug [here] and peeptoes.

DAS KLEINE SCHWARZE

Ein Kleines Schwarzes hat seinen festen Platz unter den "10 Teilen, die jede Frau im Kleiderschrank haben muss". Da ich ja Kleider liebe und so oft wie möglich trage, habe ich eine ganze Reihe an schwarzen, von bequemen Jersey-Wickelkleidern über figurbetonte Etuikleider bis hin zu eleganten Abendkleidern.

Dieses mit feinen Nadelstreifen kann ich ins Büro genauso wie abends anziehen, je nachdem, was ich dazu trage. Hier hatte ich eine Einladung zum Abendessen bei Freunden und habe statt eines Blazers, der ein bisschen zu steif gewirkt hätte, nur ein leichtes Bolerojäckchen [hier] und Peeptoes dazu getragen.

Senze Corbata - No Tie is the name of a personal blog which unfortunately had to shut down recently. The owner Josep-Maria (besides Mr C probably the only regular male follower I have!) from Catalonia, Spain is a lover of an elegant style and a dedicated supporter of the 40+ blogging community. His sense of aesthetics and thoughtful comments and pins on his Pinterest boards help spreading the word about mature fashion and style bloggers.

In this third part of my restyling series (part 1 and part 2) I show you an elegant version of my black dress. I have paired it with sheer long sleeves and a silk blazer in a light golden tone. Also wearing my new golden-grey pearl earrings, a lovely present from my children!
We have a lot of official events at my work and I wear this version of a black dress for those kind of formal invitations and functions.

Senze Corbata - No Tie ist der Name eines Blogs, der leider nicht mehr weitergeführt werden kann. Blogger Josep-Maria aus Spanien (neben Mr C vermutlich mein einziger regelmäßiger männlicher Leser!) ist ein großer Unterstützer von uns 40+ Bloggerinnen und liebt einen eleganten Stil ganz besonders. Mit diesem Post, der Teil eines Link-ups mit weiteren 40+ Bloggerinnen ist, möchte ich Josep-Maria herzlich für seine fortwährende Unterstützung durch seine Kommentare und seine zahlreichen Pins auf Pinterest danken!

Eleganz ist meiner Meinung nach eng mit Schwarz verbunden und daher stelle ich Euch heute im 3. Teil meiner Restyling Serie (Teil 1 und Teil 2) mein Etuikleid komplett in Schwarz vor - allein mein zartgoldener Seidenblazer gibt einen dezenten Farbeffekt dazu. Statt weißem Perlenschmuck trage ich meine neuen anthrazitgrauen Goldohrringe, ein wunderschönes Geschenk meiner Kinder!
Wir haben das ganze Jahr über zahlreiche offizielle, betriebliche Veranstaltungen und zu diesen Anlässen mit formellem Dresscode trage ich ein Outfit wie dieses. Klassisch, ohne allzu modischen Schnickschnack.

Meine Tochter Alena hat 2 Jahre mir ihrer Freundin Jasmin auf FashionFlirt gebloggt.
Nachdem sie nun in London studiert, hat sie jetzt ganz neu ihren eigenen Blog gestartet!
