FEELING A BIT ROYAL TODAY
My daughter and I will never forget the Royal Wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in London in April 2011. Alena attended boarding school in the UK at that time and got the day off. It has been an amazing experience for us feeling the national pride and joy, waving our flags and watching the royal golden horse-drawn carriages along The Mall. Finally we made our way amongst the crowd of visitors towards Buckingham Palace cheering to the famous kiss on the balcony and the RAF flypast.
With Prince "Charming" George's 1st birthday and the Duchess' impeccable style, the Royals are present in the media on a daily basis. Kate is certainly my style icon! For one of her final projects at London College of Fashion, Alena recently conducted a survey about "The influence of the Duchess of Cambridge on womens' buying behaviour". One of Catherine's favourite brands is Hobbs London - do you remember her in this dalmatian coat or this silver grey summer dress?
With the help of the friendly staff of the London Hobbs store at Covent Garden, Alena was able to gather valuable information for her project (and finished with highest grades... which made me a proud mum!)
You can now imagine my reaction when Hobbs contacted me for a review of one of their dresses! I thought it needed a bit of a royal background and I am sharing these photos taken at King Ludwig's beautiful Linderhof Palace which is only a 15min drive from my home.
The wrap-effect bodice made from luxurious silk and a pencil skirt bottom create a fluid, flattering silhouette. This is my style and I can't wait to wear this Invitation Julietta Dress at the next event. Along with the dress comes a matching black blazer which makes it a very elegant ensemble.
HEUTE FÜHLE ICH MICH WIE EINE PRINZESSIN
Es war ein unbeschreibliches Erlebnis, als meine Tochter und ich im April 2011 zur Hochzeit von Kate und William in London waren! Alena war zu der Zeit im Internat in England und bekam für den speziellen Tag frei. In mehreren Reihen standen wir mit Flaggen winkend an der Auffahrtsallee neben dem St. James's Park, an der die königlichen goldenen Kutschen an uns vorbeifuhren. Und anschließend drängten wir uns inmitten der (dennoch geordneten!) Menge in Richtung Buckingham Palast um gespannt auf den berühmten Kuss auf dem Balkon und den Überflug durch die Royal Air Force zu warten!
Der süße, kleine Prinz George wurde nun 1 Jahr alt und Kate ist als Stilikone beliebt bei allen Medien - ich liebe ihren unvergleichlichen Stil! Und nicht nur ich, denn Alena hatte kürzlich eine wichtige Projektarbeit am London College of Fashion zum Thema "Der Einfluss der Herzogin von Cambridge auf das Kaufverhalten von Frauen" durchgeführt. Eine der Lieblingsmarken von Catherine ist Hobbs London - z.B. dieser Mantel mit Dalmatinermuster oder dieses silbergraue Kleid.
Das freundliche Personal von Hobbs in der Londoner Filiale bei Covent Garden erwies sich dabei als besonders hilfreich und so konnte Alena ihr Projekt mit Auszeichnung abschließen (und ich war eine stolze Mama!!)
Nun könnt Ihr Euch meine Reaktion vorstellen als Hobbs mich kontaktierte, ob ich eines ihrer Kleider vorstellen möchte! Ich fand, da muss ich mich schon ein bisschen dem vorgegebenen Niveau anpassen und habe daher einen königlichen Hintergrund für meine Fotos gewählt: König Ludwig's Schloss Linderhof, das nur eine Viertelstunde von mir entfernt ist.
Das Oberteil in Wickeloptik aus edler Seide und das Bleistiftrockteil sorgen für eine fließende, figurschmeichelnde Silhouette. Durch das tolle Material sitzt es perfekt und fühlt sich einfach wunderbar an. Passend zu meinem Invitation Julietta Kleid gibt es übrigens einen schwarzen Blazer für ein besonders elegantes Ensemble.
