In honour of King Ludwig II of Bavaria's 170th Birthday
There has always been a close relationship between the famous "fairytale" King Ludwig II of Bavaria and my hometown. Several of his magnificent residences are located in the near vicinity including Linderhof Palace and Neuschwanstein Castle (which inspired the Disney Castle). Since the later 19th century when the King visited the Oberammergau Passion Play, the locals celebrate his birthday with bonfires, fireworks and music from top of the surrounding mountains. Ever since this tradition of King Ludwig's Fire takes place on 24th August, the night before his birthday. Although it attracts more and more people from the area, it was never meant to be a tourist attraction but a custom by and for the local inhabitants.
I'll never complain about the heat but I still have to go to work... In Germany the majority of offices are not air conditioned and working in a hot and sticky office is definitely a challenge these days! Personally I am lucky as my office is facing west, I have a balcony and leave the door wide open all day long which makes it very endurable.
#heatwavegermany - that's the hashtag I currently use for my Instagram photos and I love it! Living in Bavaria's mountain region makes it more durable anyway since temperatures cool down at night and I wake up to fresh, clean air in the mornings. I hope this weather will stay forever...
Summer evenings also mean BBQs and drinks and this weekend I wore my daughter's wideleg paisley trousers and a black top. The trousers are super comfortable and the wider top doesn't stick to the skin but is light and airy. I love my chunky silver statement jewellery and always get a lot of comments on the necklace from Mango. Unfortunately it is sold out but there are some great options by Free People and BaubleBar (on sale!)
... even fashion bloggers can't buy new clothes for every post!
Everything I am wearing today has been in my wardrobe for quite some time. Although I love shopping, I am not craving for the latest must-have piece. Usually I am a bit hesitant towards new trends anyway and talked about itin my last post. Pairing existing clothes with a new purchase is always nice and feeling good and comfortable in my personal style is most important.
I cannot hide my love for wrap dresses! Body hugging and most feminine, they are 100% my style. When I recently visited one of my daily reads, Lydia's blog Chic On The Cheap, she wore this lovely dress but admitted her love/hate towards the dress and mostly its length. Her post For'midi'able received plenty of encouraging feedback how well it suits her! But I never expected her reply to my comment "Done with your dress?? Send it over :-)"Only a moment later I received Lydia's email in my inbox "It's yours!"
This is the story of a gorgeous wrap dress which is mine now and I loved it from the very first moment I tried it on! It is from Max Studio and I already had a look at the current collection - there are gorgeous pieces for autumn like this red, this burgundy or this sweater dress!
We all know how time consuming blogging is and we have our ups and downs but I have made so many amazing new friends since I started my blog and this has been another touching blogger experience! Thank you so much, dear Lydia and sorry, I won't send this lovely dress back across the North Atlantic :-)
EIN WICKELKLEID - ZWEI BLOGGERINNEN
Ich liebe Wickelkleider! Figurformend, weiblich und 100% mein Stil. Kürzlich trug Lydia auf ihrem Blog Chic On The Cheap, den ich regelmäßig lese, dieses tolle grüne Wickelkleid. Sie erwähnte dabei, dass sie eine gewisse Hass-Liebe gegen dieses Kleid und speziell seine Länge hegt. Es folgten zahlreiche aufmunternde Kommentare auf ihren post For'midi'able, wie gut ihr das Kleid doch steht. Womit ich aber nie gerechnet hatte, war Lydia's Antwort auf meinen Kommentar "Du magst das Kleid nicht mehr?? Schick es mir :-)"Nur einen Moment später hatte ich eine mail in meinem Postfach "Es gehört Dir!"
Das ist also die Geschichte dieses grünen Wickelkleids, das ich vom ersten Moment an geliebt habe, als ich es anprobiert habe! Es stammt von Max Studio und ich habe mir die aktuelle Kollektion angesehen - oh ja, da gäbe es zahlreiche Traumkleider, die ich im Herbst sofort tragen würde, z.B.dieses rote, dieses bordeauxfarbene oder dieses Strickkleid!
Wir all wissen, wie zeitintensiv bloggen ist und wir haben alle unsere Höhen und Tiefen, aber seit ich blogge habe ich unwahrscheinlich tolle Frauen kennengelernt und Erlebnisse wie diese sind einfach unbezahlbar! Ganz herzlichen Dank, liebe Lydia und tut mir leid, dieses Kleid wird in Deutschland bleiben... :-)

A little Boho feeling in my paisley tunic today without going too 'hippie' or Coachella styled... Instead I stayed classic and paired it with skinny ankle trousers and my beloved patent sling pumps and bag. Oh yes, I am a very matchy-matchy person!
It is always so much fun meeting fellow bloggers and I wore this outfit to an afternoon at a lovely little open air restaurant by Lake Starnberg south of Munich. I used to live in that area for many years and it is always great to go back. Luckily it's only an hour drive and as soon as the weather eventually gets better I will take leave and will certainly spend some days by the lake, reading, swimming and finally getting some sun tan!
BOHO CHIC
Ein bisschen Boho Chic, aber sicher ohne Gefahr zu laufen, mich damit hippiemäßig und cool für's Coachella Festival stylen zu wollen... Stattdessen bleibe ich klassisch und habe meine Paisley Tunika mit einer schmalen weißen Hose, bordeauxfarbenen Slingpumps und passender Tasche kombiniert. Ich liebe es einfach, wenn alles genau zusammenpasst!
Es ist immer wieder schön, sich mit anderen Bloggerinnen auszutauschen. Letztes Wochenende habe ich dieses Outfit zu einem Treffen am Starnberger See mit Conny von A Hemad und a Hos, Stephanie, der Modeflüsterin und Gaby von Stylish Salat getragen.Ich habe viele Jahre am Starnberger See gewohnt und fahre immer gerne wieder hin. Sobald das Wetter besser wird (immer noch trostloses Grau und Dauerregen, aber ich gebe die Hoffnung nicht auf!) nehme ich mir ein paar Tage frei und genieße den einen oder anderen schönen Tag dort am See und tanke Sonne und Bräune!

Summer doesn't want to show up here in Southern Germany and yet again I was wearing trousers instead of light and airy summer dresses...My mood does need some lift these days with grey, low clouds and constant rain which already started flooding roads in my area and there isn't even a hint of hot and dry summer weather.
My blogger friend Susanne of Texterella and her selection of navy looks inspired me to my new striped shirt with its cute boat neckline (similar here and here). Paired with white and a bit of a pink colour dash I do what I can to pretend its summer!!

Es wird einfach nicht Sommer in Bayern und ich muss meine leichten Sommerkleider im Schrank lassen und stattdessen Hosen und wettertaugliche Schuhe tragen. Meine Stimmung ist entsprechend... tiefhängende, graue Wolken und Dauerregen führen mittlerweile schon zu Überflutungen. Ich habe es so satt!!
Meine Bloggerfreundin Susi von Texterella und ihre Marinelooks haben mich zu meinem neuen Streifenshirt mit U-Bootausschnitt inspiriert (mehr in diesem Stil hier und hier). Zusammen mit einer weißen Hose und ein bisschen Pink tue ich farblich einfach so als wäre Sommer ;-) Und denen, die Susi's Blog tatsächlich noch nicht kennen, empfehle ich dringend einen Besuch - nicht nur wg. meines Interviews hier, sondern vor allem weil Susi's fantastischer Schreibstil und ihre Vielseitigkeit einfach grandios sind!

Black dresses are considered as elegant, classy and a "must have". That is certainly true and I do have quite a selection of black dresses from shift dresses for the office, long elegant dresses for special occasions, more casual jersey dresses, a midi skaterdress or light summer dresses ... yes, I am a bit obsessed by them! Have a look at my previous looks in black dresses in my outfit gallery.
However, a LBD can be styled in so many different ways and I wore this sleeveless maxidress to a BBQ with my daughter last weekend. Last year I have shown you a more elegant version here. Paired with an oversized shirt and flip flops it was perfect for a warm summer night.

DAS KLEINE SCHWARZE - GANZ LEGER FÜR'S WOCHENENDE
Schwarze Kleider haben den Ruf, elegant und klassisch zu sein und sind außerdem ein "must have" in jedem Kleiderschrank. Daher habe ich auch unzählige, von schmalen Etuikleidern für's Büro, langen Abendkleidern für besondere Gelegenheiten, leichte Baumwollkleider für den Sommer oder ein schwingendes Skaterdress... ich gebe zu, ich kann mich da nicht zurückhalten! In meiner outfit gallery findet Ihr zahlreiche Looks dazu.
Aber schwarze Kleider kann man auch ganz lässig tragen, wie ich zu einer Grillparty mit Alena am Wochenende. Das Kleid hatte ich letztes Jahr in einem eleganteren Styling hier vorgestellt. Jetzt habe ich einfach ein weites, weißes Hemd und schwarze FlipFlops dazu getragen - ein passender Look für einen schönen, warmen Sommerabend.

July, summer, sunshine, hot temperatures, swimming in the lake, sitting outside until late at night... I can only remember long periods of hot summer weather from my childhood when I spent every afternoon at the local pool with my friends. Great memories! Often our climate here in the Bavarian Alps is inconsistent nowadays but when the sun is shining, I take every opportunity to stay outside in my lovely garden. Today has been one of these glorious days with beautiful summer weather! Time to wear my light and airy silver-grey empire line dress which isn't clinging around the waist and ideal for high temperatures. Unfortunately it is no longer available but I love these by Little Mistress, NoaNoa and Elégance.
DAS PERFEKTE KLEID FÜR EINEN HEISSEN SOMMERTAG
Juli, Sommer, Sonne, Hitze, Schwimmen im See und abends bis spät in die Nacht draußen sitzen... "Sommer wie er früher einmal war" und schon vom legendären Rudi Carrell in den 70ern besungen wurde. Eine Zeit, in der ich jeden Nachmittag mit meinen Freundinnen im örtlichen Freibad verbringen konnte. Schöne Erinnerungen! Aber endlich gab es ein paar herrliche Sommertage und mein luftiges, silbergraues Kleid ist mit seinem Empireschnitt ideal, da nichts einengt oder am Körper klebt. Leider habe ich gerade festgestellt, dass 3Suisses nicht mehr nach Deutschland liefert, aber ich habe hier ein paar tolle Alternativen gefunden. Diese Kleider von Little Mistress, NoaNoa und Elégance sind einfach wunderschön!
