ELEGANT IN BLACK LEATHER AND VINTAGE LACES

After my casual styling of these black faux leather leggings this is an elegant version today. Not the typical elegant look though but a slightly edgy one. I have paired my trousers with a real vintage lace blouse which is at least as old as I am! It was far too big but my skilled seamstress altered it for me and now I usually wear it in a style mix with jeans and heels.
Also my faux fur coat (seen here last year) received a bit of a makeover, she took it in on both sides as I prefer wearing it tighter and without a belt.
Alena joined us for our photo session, also wearing black and our favourite nail varnish "angora cardi" by essie.

I hope you are all having a happy Christmas wherever you are! My children and I enjoy our time together here at home before they have to return to their universities and I will be back on the blog in January. I wish my amazing readers around the world all the best, health and happiness for 2015!

ELEGANT IN SCHWARZEM LEDER UND VINTAGE SPITZE

Nachdem ich Euch letztes Mal mein lässiges Styling dieser schwarzen Kunstlederleggings gezeigt habe, ist heute eine elegante Version dran. Allerdings nicht ganz klassisch-elegant, sondern eher ein bisschen "edgy". Ich habe die Hose mit einer echten Vintage Spitzenbluse kombiniert, die mindestens so alt ist wie ich selbst! Sie war mir viel zu groß, aber meine Schneiderin hat sie für mich passend gemacht. Jetzt trage ich sie am liebsten im Stilmix mit Jeans und Pumps.
Auch meine Felljacke (letzten Winter hier getragen) hat sie für mich geändert, ich mag sie ein bisschen enger und trage sie außerdem lieber ohne Gürtel.
Alena hat uns zum Photoshooting begleitet - auch ganz in Schwarz und wir tragen den gleichen Nagellack "angora cardi", momentan unsere Lieblingsfarbe von essie.

Ich hoffe, Ihr habt schöne Weihnachten, wo immer Ihr die Feiertage verbringt! Zusammen mit meinen Kindern genieße ich die Tage zuhause, bevor sie beide wieder zurück zu ihren Unis müssen und Ihr mich hier auf dem Blog wiederseht. Ich wünsche Euche alles Gute, Gesundheit und Glück für 2015!

STYLING SERIES #3: BLACK JUMPSUIT & COOL LEATHER

Most likely you didn't expect this look and maybe I was able to surprise you a bit... You know that I usually dress in a more feminine, elegant style but sometimes it is important to step out of your comfort zone and try something different!

This is what I have done today and my idea was to show you the versatility of a classic black jumpsuit. I don't own a moto jacket myself (real leather 50% off here and budget friendly faux leather here) but took advantage of my daughter's closet again. I have to say I did feel different but not uncomfortable, maybe a bit naughty in this cool styling. A lighter, still casual version of this style could be a classic denim jacket.

And while I was in that mood I tried out Alena's sunglasses too - just for fun ;-)

In the meantime spring turned nature into fresh Green and I am amazed about the difference to last week when we took these photos.

I am very curious about your opinion on my unusual look!

Vermutlich habt Ihr diesen Look nicht erwartet und vielleicht konnte ich Euch ein bisschen überraschen... Ihr wisst, dass ich normalerweise einen femininen, eleganten Stil trage, aber manchmal ist es auch wichtig, dass man etwas anderes ausprobiert, sich etwas traut, was man normalerweise nicht unbedingt tragen würde.

Das habe ich heute getan und es war für mich einfach, denn ich mußte mir dafür nichts kaufen, sondern ich habe mir einfach Alena's Bikerjacke (Optionen hier und hier) ausgeliehen... Ich gestehe, in diesem coolen Look habe ich mich schon ganz anders gefühlt, nicht unwohl, eher ein bisschen frech "in meinem Alter"! Als etwas softere Variante kann die Lederjacke auch durch eine klassische Jeansjacke ersetzt werden.

Und dann war es nur noch ein kleiner Schritt, ihre verspiegelte Sonnenbrille dazu aufzusetzen - und wenn auch nur für's Foto :-)

In der Zwischenzeit ist die Natur hier richtig explodiert und in viel satterem Grün als noch vor einer Woche hier auf diesen Fotos.

STYLING SERIES #2: BLACK JUMPSUIT & SPRING YELLOW

PART 2: BLACK JUMPSUIT & LEMON YELLOW

How do you feel about bright yellow for this season? I know it is not an easy colour and some women are afraid of looking pale wearing it, especially for the upper half. I love this cropped lemon yellow ZARA blazer which my daughter and I love sharing (worn by Alena here) and think the colour as well as the tailored shape work well with my jumpsuit.

I have received several comments on my necklace - it is actually a silky cord with tassels and is attached to the cleavage of the jumpsuit! I am glad you like it especially as I was thinking to cut it off... which I will now certainly NOT do :-)

ROYAL BLUE & WHITE

TEIL 1: SCHWARZER OVERALL & ZITRONENGELB

Tragt Ihr Gelb? Ich weiss, es ist eine schwierige Farbe und die Meinungen gehen darüber sicher auseinander, denn manche Frauen können darin blass aussehen. Ich habe für mich die Erfahrung gemacht, dass etwas grellere Töne, sogar Neon, bei mir das Gegenteil erreichen und mich eher zum Strahlen bringen!

Ganz besonders liebe ich diesen kurzen zitronengelben ZARA Blazer, den meine Tochter und ich abwechselnd tragen - Alenas Styling seht Ihr hier. Gerade die kurze Form passt sich dem Schnitt des Overalls doch perfekt an, oder? Ich hoffe, Stephanie, die Modeflüsterin wird das bestätigen!!

Übrigens habe ich zahlreiche Kommentare zu meiner Kette erhalten - es ist tatsächlich aber gar keine Kette, sondern eine Kordel mit Quasten, die am Ausschnitt angenäht ist! Und ich hatte vorher schon überlegt, sie abzutrennen... das werde ich nun natürlich NICHT tun :-)

PART 1: BLACK JUMPSUIT MEETS WHITE & BLUE

This black jumpsuit from Mango {similar here and here} made its first appearance on the blog here when Mr C and I spent a lovely weekend in Northern Italy last year. I couldn't wait to get it out again when I rearranged my spring/summer wardrobe last weekend.

It is such a versatile piece and can easily be styled in different ways: elegant in all black, colourful or even casual with a denim jacket - I will show you a different styling next week.

Senze Corbata - No Tie is the name of a personal blog which unfortunately had to shut down recently. The owner Josep-Maria (besides Mr C probably the only regular male follower I have!) from Catalonia, Spain is a lover of an elegant style and a dedicated supporter of the 40+ blogging community. In this third part of my restyling series (part 1 and part 2) I show you an elegant version of my black dress. I have paired it with sheer long sleeves and a silk blazer in a light golden tone. Also wearing my new golden-grey pearl earrings, a lovely present from my children!

Senze Corbata - No Tie ist der Name eines Blogs, der leider nicht mehr weitergeführt werden kann. Blogger Josep-Maria aus Spanien (neben Mr C vermutlich mein einziger regelmäßiger männlicher Leser!) ist ein großer Unterstützer von uns 40+ Bloggerinnen und liebt einen eleganten Stil ganz besonders. Mit diesem Post, der Teil eines Link-ups mit weiteren 40+ Bloggerinnen ist, möchte ich Josep-Maria herzlich für seine fortwährende Unterstützung durch seine Kommentare und seine zahlreichen Pins auf Pinterest danken!

Eleganz ist meiner Meinung nach eng mit Schwarz verbunden und daher stelle ich Euch heute im 3. Teil meiner Restyling Serie (Teil 1 und Teil 2) mein Etuikleid komplett in Schwarz vor - allein mein zartgoldener Seidenblazer gibt einen dezenten Farbeffekt dazu. Statt weißem Perlenschmuck trage ich meine neuen anthrazitgrauen Goldohrringe, ein wunderschönes Geschenk meiner Kinder!
Wir haben das ganze Jahr über zahlreiche offizielle, betriebliche Veranstaltungen und zu diesen Anlässen mit formellem Dresscode trage ich ein Outfit wie dieses. Klassisch, ohne allzu modischen Schnickschnack.

Meine Tochter Alena hat 2 Jahre mir ihrer Freundin Jasmin auf FashionFlirt gebloggt.
Nachdem sie nun in London studiert, hat sie jetzt ganz neu ihren eigenen Blog gestartet!

CLASSIC BLACK DRESS MEETS BURGUNDY
Restyling Part 2

Last time I showed you how I styled my black shift dress with a floral blouse. Today it is all about burgundy, my favourite colour this season. I kept it to these two colours only and just added some golden statement jewellery. I have shown you my new adea layering top already here and this is another proof of its versatility!

I love my new cross body bag, a gorgeous Christmas present by Mr C which makes it's first but certainly not it's last appearance on the blog today! He knows my love for this colour as well as all kinds of animal prints - both perfectly combined in this cute little bag!

SCHWARZES ETUIKLEID + WEINROT
Restyling Teil 2

Letztes Mal habe ich Euch gezeigt, wie ich mein schwarzes Etuikleid mit Blumendrucken kombiniert habe. Heute dreht sich alles um meine momentane Lieblingsfarbe Bordeauxrot - in allen Schattierungen. Mein neues seidiges Top von adea hatte ich Euch bereits hier vorgestellt und diese Tragvariante beweist die Vielfältigkeit dieser Shirts! Und um das ganze nicht zu dunkel wirken zu lassen, kommt noch eine gute Portion Gold dazu.

Zum ersten Mal führe ich meine neue kleine Liebe in Form meiner Tasche vor, einem Weihnachtsgeschenk von Mr C. Er kennt nicht nur meine farblichen Präferenzen, sondern auch meine Leidenschaft für Animalprints! Beides wunderbar vereint auf meiner kleinen Tasche!

RESTYLING PART 1 - BLACK DRESS GOES FLORAL

CLASSIC BLACK DRESS GOES FLORAL
Restyling Part 1

Since Christmas all the snow has gone and if I had a choice (unfortunately not) I certainly wouldn't want it back but rather skip the next two winter months and directly go into spring.

Maybe my floral prints are a small hint already? I gave my classic black dress a floral make-over which also serves the purpose of covering pale arms at this time of the year. A LBD is an essential part of my wardrobe and can be worn for so many occasions. Usually I stay classy and elegant but sometimes I want to give it a little twist.
Here are some ideas:

Choose a blouse in a bright colour, floral or graphic prints under your dress
Alternatively go for a 3/4 or long sleeved top or turtleneck sweater
Accessorize it with a colourful, wide belt
Try coloured tights or with patterns like polka dots
Wear a jacket with prints, a leatherjacket or a colourful cardigan with your dress
Add a scarf or a statement necklace
I prefer pumps or kneehigh boots but you may want to try ankle booties?

SCHWARZES ETUIKLEID & BLUMENPRINTS
Restyling Teil 1

Seit Weihnachten haben wir keinen Schnee mehr und wenn Ihr mich fragt (macht leider keiner), ich brauche ihn auch nicht mehr und würde die nächsten zwei Wintermonate am liebsten überspringen und gleich mit Frühling weitermachen!

Dazu passen die Blumendrucke meiner Bluse, die ich heute unter meinem klassischen schwarzen Kleid trage. Es ist nicht nur wärmer, sondern bedeckt auch meine blassen Arme um diese Jahreszeit. Ich liebe ja schwarze Kleider und trage sie sehr oft zu einem formellen Anlass oder zum Weggehen, aber manchmal mag ich sie auch ein bisschen anders als gewohnt, hier sind einige Ideen:

Eine Bluse in einer kräftigen Farbe, Blumen- oder Grafikmuster drunter
Alternativ ein 3/4 oder langärmliges T-Shirt oder ein Rollkragenpulli
Ein auffälliger, breiter Gürtel
Farbige Strumpfhosen oder gemusterte, z.B. mit Tupfen
Eine gemusterte Jacke, eine Lederjacke oder ein knalliger Cardigan
Ein peppiger Schal oder eine große Statement Kette
Ich trage am liebsten Pumps oder kniehohe Stiefel, aber wie wäre es mit Booties?

Von Sommer zu Winter

Ein sommerliches Kleid im Winter? Geht das? Auf jeden Fall finde ich!
