BLACK IS BACK WITH A TOUCH OF YELLOW

BLACK IS BACK

This is one of my favourite old dresses which I dig out of my wardrobe every summer! It is a very simple lined cotton dress and so easy to wear.

My styling difference to previous years: Whereas I used to combine it with black and white accessories only, I have luckily discovered colours for me and paired it with yellow sandals and tote bag from Topshop today (from my daughter's wardrobe!) which instantly added a fresh look.

I recently had my hair trimmed but I am not happy with its "in between" length now (you all know that stage, don't you?) and therefore I tie it back more often. That gives me the chance to wear big chandelier earrings as they don't snarl up with my hair that way.
I used to have longer hair all my life and want to keep it at a decent length but sometimes I wish I'd be brave enough for a change...

SCHWARZ GEHT IMMER

Heute trage ich ein Kleid, das ich seit Jahren habe und im Sommer immer wieder aus dem Schrank hole. Es ist ein simples, gefüttertes Baumwollkleid von Esprit und das Schwarz ist auch nach Jahren nicht verblichen - gute Qualität und so angenehm zu tragen!

Nur das Styling ist anders als in den Vorjahren: Währen ich früher immer bei einem reinen Schwarz-Weiß Look geblieben bin, habe ich zum Glück Farben für mich entdeckt! Und daher habe ich es mit kräftigen Gelbtönen kombiniert, die es gleich frischer aussehen lassen. Die Sandalen und die Tasche von Topshop habe ich übrigens bei meiner Tocher ausgeliehen!

Kürzlich war ich beim Spitzenschneiden und bin momentan gar nicht glücklich mit dieser Zwischenlänge (Ihr kennt diese Situation bestimmt...) und daher binde ich meine Haare häufiger zusammen. Ich würde sie gerne hochstecken, aber es ist schwierig, passende Frisuren für diese Länge zu finden, da die Seiten immer wieder rausrutschen. Aber wenigstens kann ich große Ohrringe tragen, die sich nun nicht in den langen Haaren verheddern.
Ich hatte schon immer mehr oder weniger lange Haare, manchmal wünschte ich mir, ich wäre mutig und würde etwas neues wagen, aber dazu konnte ich mich bislang nie entschließen...

STYLING SERIES #2: BLACK JUMPSUIT & SPRING YELLOW

PART 2: BLACK JUMPSUIT & LEMON YELLOW

How do you feel about bright yellow for this season? I know it is not an easy colour and some women are afraid of looking pale wearing it, especially for the upper half. I love this cropped lemon yellow ZARA blazer which my daughter and I love sharing (worn by Alena here) and think the colour as well as the tailored shape work well with my jumpsuit.

I have received several comments on my necklace - it is actually a silky cord with tassels and is attached to the cleavage of the jumpsuit! I am glad you like it especially as I was thinking to cut it off... which I will now certainly NOT do :-)

ROYAL BLUE & WHITE

TEIL 1: SCHWARZER OVERALL & ZITRONENGELB

Tragt Ihr Gelb? Ich weiss, es ist eine schwierige Farbe und die Meinungen gehen darüber sicher auseinander, denn manche Frauen können darin blass aussehen. Ich habe für mich die Erfahrung gemacht, dass etwas grellere Töne, sogar Neon, bei mir das Gegenteil erreichen und mich eher zum Strahlen bringen!

Ganz besonders liebe ich diesen kurzen zitronengelben ZARA Blazer, den meine Tochter und ich abwechselnd tragen - Alenas Styling seht Ihr hier. Gerade die kurze Form passt sich dem Schnitt des Overalls doch perfekt an, oder? Ich hoffe, Stephanie, die Modeflüsterin wird das bestätigen!!

Übrigens habe ich zahlreiche Kommentare zu meiner Kette erhalten - es ist tatsächlich aber gar keine Kette, sondern eine Kordel mit Quasten, die am Ausschnitt angenäht ist! Und ich hatte vorher schon überlegt, sie abzutrennen... das werde ich nun natürlich NICHT tun :-)

YELLOW - THE NEW TREND COLOUR

GIVE ME SOME COLOUR PLEASE

Checking the weather forecast became quite a habit in my daily routine as a blogger. And taking photos on a grey and miserable day is not easy. Glad I chose some colour that day! The sun came out for a couple of minutes and we had to be very quick as there was a nasty windchill and taking off my jacket was a bit of a challenge.

I recently got this faux leather stretch skirt from H&M's Plus Size section. It is far too big - you should see photos from behind ;-) and now it's already in the professional hands of my seamstress. But I liked the skirt and I am happy with the length. In general I wish dresses and skirts would have a more decent length rather then ending half way of my thighs. Always a problem with so many brand as I prefer a length slightly above my knees (I am only 5'4).

This is my first subtle attempt wearing yellow this season. A warm hue and come summer and a tan, I might be braver and opt for a brighter yellow!

EINMAL FARBE BITTE

Den Wetterbericht und die Vorhersage für die nächsten Tage zu verfolgen, gehört für uns Blogger zum Alltag. Manchmal ist es einfach zu wolkenverhangen und kein Lichtblick ist am Himmel zu sehen. Heraus kam ein blitzschnelles shooting während die Sonne für 5 Minuten hinter den tiefhängenden Wolken rausspitzte... und schnell waren wir wirklich, da dazu ein unangenehmer, eiskalter Wind wehte!

Den schwarzen Kunstlederrock mit Stretcheinsätzen habe ich mir kürzlich bei H&M "Große Größen" bestellt, er ist mir zwar deutlich zu groß (wie gut, dass es keine Aufnahmen von hinten gibt!), aber meine Schneiderin ist schon dabei, ihn zu ändern. Warum ich öfter mal eine Nummer größer bestelle, ist die Länge. Das ist oft mein Problem, denn ich trage keine Röcke und Kleider mehr, die auf Oberschenkelhöhe enden (bei nur 1,63).

Meine maisgelbe Bluse ist der erste Versuch, diese Saison Gelb zu tragen. Der warme Ton ist für diese Jahrezeit passend, im Sommer mit etwas Bräune kann ich mir durchaus auch ein kräftigeres oder kühleres Gelb vorstellen.
