Our current winter weather is getting on my mood! Oh yes, we do have real winter wonderland sunshine like today but then there are those cold and dark days with lots of new snow which really have a major impact on our daily life. Heating costs are exploding, road conditions are dangerous and ever so often I have to cancel appointments or even don’t commit to any trips in the first place but rather stay home safely.

Although I am always wearing warm gloves and constantly use rich handlotion, my skin is dry and I am suffering from those nasty cracks on my fingers which are tiny but oh so painful.
All in all: I cannot stand winter but I am looking forward to spring, warm temperatures and a life outdoors again!

Slowly the pre-spring collections arrive in the shops but it will take a while until I can wear lighter clothes here in Southern Bavaria. Until then I am restyling pieces from my existing wardrobe and always look for ways to give them a new look.

I have paired my favourite skinny jeans from Marks & Spencer with my black velvet jacket and since that wouldn’t be enough to fight the cold, I added my soft woolen cape with a faux fur collar. A blazer or jacket make it difficult to wear a coat on top but a cape is an easy solution.
