I bought this dress earlier in summer but then wasn’t quite sure how and when I could wear it. The lining and 3/4 sleeves aren’t suitable for very warm summer temperatures. On the other hand it doesn’t feel quite right for the cold season either.
Usually we have nice and sunny weather in September and October, albeit nights are pretty chilly. Paired with leather accessories and my floral bag I felt comfortable for this period of transition. My belt from a small boutique in Tuscany, Italy is more than 20 years old!
Ich habe mir dieses Kleid schon Anfang des Sommers gekauft, aber nie getragen. Während der Hitzeperiode war es zu warm, da es gefüttert ist und für den Winter finde ich es nicht ganz passend.
September und Oktober sind hier im Süden üblicherweise Monate mit schönem, sonnigen Wetter (darauf hoffe ich jedenfalls wieder!) und somit habe ich es letzte Woche endlich aus dem Schrank geholt. Kombiniert habe ich es mit braunen Lederaccessoires und einer Blumentasche in Herbstfarben. Meinen Ledergürtel, den ich vor über 20 Jahren in einer kleinen Boutique in der Toskana gekauft habe, liebe ich noch immer!

This morning I got up very early and took my daughter Alena to Munich airport. A new and exciting chapter in her life as she left for university and will study at London College of Fashion.
I couldn’t be happier for her but of course I feel very sad today…

Ohhh ich kann mir sehr gut vorstellen, wie Du Dich wegen Deiner Tochter fühlst. Meine Schwester steckt gerade in der selben Situation, Ihr ältester Sohn verlässt jetzt dann auch sein zu Hause, um mit dem Studium zu beginnen. Allerdings ist er nicht so weit entfernt, wie Deine Tochter. Aber ich kann nachfühlen, wie hin- und her gerissen Du sein musst. Der Kopf weiß: So muss es sein und das Herz sagt: Sie könnten doch eigentlich auch zu Hause bleiben. Da bin ich wieder froh, dass diese Frage bei meinen Kindern erst in ein paar Jahren gestellt wird. Ein wunderbares Kleid und genau richtig für den Spätsommer. Zu solchen Kleider mag ich sich gerne braunes Leder, passt einfach am besten.

My son has taken, 4 month ago, a very senior job in a bank in Johannesburg , South Africa. While been proud of him (he just bought his own car and rented an apartment) I miss his love and wisdom and his smile around the dinner table. I'm thinking of you as today as you adjust to Alena heading off to London. Thankfully its not too far away, so thats a consolation for sure. I'm sure she's going to have an amazing time and be successful.
I adore this dress – its so elegant in its simplicity. Just perfect and you're dressed it up so well.
I'd wear it with court heels for a more dressy office look or going out to dinner with some dramatic gold accessories. As always you've make it look awesome.
