Wenn es um aktuelle Trends geht, bin ich oft erstmal skeptisch.

Wer soll das tragen? Hatten wir alles schon! Nein, da mache ich bestimmt nicht mit… 

Und dann, kann es sein (muss aber nicht), dass ich es einfach doch mal ausprobiere 😉

Ich habe noch eine flared Jeans im Schrank, die ich so gut wie nie trage, vor allem jetzt, wenn es eisig wird, ist es schwierig, sie aufgrund der Länge mit hohen Schuhen zu tragen. Ich konnte mir nie vorstellen, kurze, weite Jeans zu tragen. Mittlerweile finde ich sie cool und bevor meine Jeans länger im Schrank versauert, werde ich sie einfach abschneiden und dann sehe ich ja, ob ich diesen Trend an mir mag oder nicht!

Bei Samt stellten sich mir diese Fragen nicht: Es ist ein klassisches, edles Material, schimmernd und angenehm weich zu tragen, damit sowohl perfekt für die kalte Jahreszeit tagsüber als auch für stylishe Partylooks und glamouröse Abendmode, die ja gerade jetzt eine große Rolle spielen. Die aktuellen Trendteile aus Samt sind außerdem nicht steif wie früher (ich denke an klassische Samtblazer der 80er), sondern lässige Kombiteile.

Mit „cut-out“ tue ich mich schon schwerer – nicht nur mit der Übersetzung, denn mir fällt keine passende ein – sondern weil ich da erstmal an knallenge Kleidchen im Kardashian Stil mit links und rechts ausgeschnittener Taille denke… *verdrehtdieaugen*

Ich mag meine Schulterpartie, weite U-Boot Ausschnitte und schulterfreie Tops (diese Bluse habe ich letzten Frühling gezeigt) und da kommen die aktuellen „cut-out“ Tops und Pullis ins Spiel! Daher habe ich mir dieses dunkelgrüne Samttop bei Zara bestellt, das es auch in Dunkelblau gibt. Schade nur, dass es so kurz ist, daher trage ich immer ein langes, schwarzes Top drunter.

Damit das alles nicht zu dunkel wird, setze ich auf viel goldenen Schmuck und Accessoires.

Meine goldenen Pumps mit mittelhohem Absatz sind ebenfalls von Zara. Ich habe Probleme mit meinen Ballen und brauche Schuhe, die nicht zu weit ausgeschnitten sind. Hier kommt mir ein weiterer Trend zugute, denn es gibt derzeit viele Schuhe, die am Rist höher geschnitten und trotzdem super stylish sind und nicht nach Gesundheitsschuhen aussehen.

Often I am hesitant about new trends and it takes a while until I am into them – or take the freedom to skip a trend!
Who will wear THAT? I wore it in the 80s! Oh, no that’s not flattering!
Initial denial before I look at it over and over again and maybe give it a chance but that might take a while and it could be mainstream by then 😉
I have a pair of flared jeans which I hardly wear. In winter ice and snow make it difficult to pair them with high heels which is necessary because of the length. I never thought I’d consider cropped wide jeans but have seen a couple of cool outfits recently (one of them by my friend Michelle of RetroChicMama – BTW she wrote a brilliant post about menopause!) and will just cut them and see how I feel.

Trend 1: Velvet

I never put the velvet trend in question and was happy to see it in stores before it became a must-have this autumn. I love this classic, noble fabric and its subtle shine. It is soft and feels good on the skin during the cold months for daywear as well as stylish party outfits and glamorous evening looks. Ideal for the upcoming Christmas season! The „new“ velvet is less fomal than in the past but usually lighter and easier to wear and style.

Trend 2: Cut-out / cold shoulder tops

The cut-out trend can be a bit more tricky to wear and when I first heard about it I was thinking of Kardashian-like bodycon dresses with a bare waist… *rollshereyes*
I do like my neckline hence I love boat necklines and off-the-shoulder tops (I have worn this floral blouse last spring) and the new cut-out (cold shoulder) tops caught my attention early. This dark green velvet jumper is from Zara. Unfortunately it is very short and I have to wear a long black layering top underneath.

Metallic block heels

Accessories are very important for my outfits and I chose golden shoes, bag and jewellery to add some sparkle to the dark colours.
My golden pumps with block heels are from Zara as well and really comfortable. I have problems with my bunions and always have to make sure my shoes cover them. I am glad currently there is quite a good selection of those type of shoes in stores which look stylish and are comfortable without giving the impression of  orthopaedic shoes.
